On a Prometheus forum, I came across a link to this video, which apparently is one of the extras on Prometheus' DVD.

First, let me thank John Spaihts for acknowledging that a number of readers of Alien Harvest liked it a great deal. It's interesting that Alien Harvest
had convinced his friend of its authenticity. Also, I would never have taken legal action, unless Prometheus had used significant story elements from Alien Harvest, which clearly was not the case.
Michael Ellenberg, thanks for looking me in the eye and telling me you didn't read the script. However, you got something wrong in that video.
Contrary to your assertion that the Guardian dismissed Alien Harvest as potentially "one of the worst movies of all time," here's the Guardian's actual headline
about Alien Harvest: "Will Ridley Scott's Alien prequel
make a groundbreaking scene?" Its writer goes on:
Were what is rather childishly being termed the "Brokeback Alien" scene to actually make it on to camera, it might go down as one of the most excruciating celluloid moments since the "squeal like a piggy" segue from 1972's Deliverance. It would certainly mark the film out as a rather different beast from the awful Aliens vs Predator films, if only because those movies resolutely failed to raise any eyebrows whatsoever. And one has a feeling it would be the kind of moment that made the film a genuine talking point, whether for positive or negative reasons.Unless there's a Guardian article I'm not aware of, Ellenberg got his facts wrong. And why would the Guardian publish a thousand-word article about "Plan 9 from Outer Space kind of screenwriting" in the first place?
. . . such a move might manage to pull off the previously impossible feat of topping the chestburster birthing scene from the first film
This makes me wonder how often such DVD extras, which people buy to learn the "inside story," are full of BS.
